Governing Board
As per the Education Act, each school must set up a governing board composed of parents, staff members, students (for secondary schools and centers) and community representatives. This official body has specific functions and powers related to educational services, extracurricular services, material and financial resources of its school or center. Each governing board establishes its rules of operation and internal management in order to promote efficiency and make decisions in response to the needs of the community, while maintaining compliance with the Education Act. In other words, the members of the governing board approve, adopt and give their opinions on various subjects and facets of the school or center.
